Today was a little extra fun in the studio. Hallie was my tiny accomplice and she whipped up some pretty fabulous abstract pieces on a tiny canvases. I, on the other hand, worked on a much bigger scale- 4 feet by 4 feet!
I stretched linen over the frame myself (haven't done that since college!) and sketched out what was going to be just the outline of a figure. But then I got inspired to add a little more color and then a little more and then... well, you get the picture.
Anyways, I love painting in this frame of mind- you know, in the "whatever happens, happens" kind of way rather than overly planned kind of way.
And I'm feeling really good about this piece and how it couples together that young bohemian style (colorful and wild) with that more traditional and timeless medium and style (portraits and linen).
Thanks for stopping by to read and hope you have a fabulous week!
